Skilled Worker Visa
Expert guidance for employers and employees navigating the UK Skilled Worker Visa route under the points-based immigration system.
The Skilled Worker Visa replaced the Tier 2 (General) visa in December 2020 and forms the cornerstone of the UK's points-based immigration system. It allows UK employers who hold a valid sponsor licence to recruit skilled workers from outside the UK and Ireland. At Kings Court Law, our specialist solicitors advise both employers and employees on all aspects of the Skilled Worker Visa route, from initial eligibility assessments through to settlement applications.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for a Skilled Worker Visa, applicants must score a minimum of 70 points under the points-based system. The mandatory requirements (50 points) include a job offer from a licensed UK sponsor, the role must be at RQF Level 3 or above, and English language proficiency at B1 level or above.
